maintaining wicker furniture outdoors?

May 5th, 2008 | Posted in Wicker   Comments Off
little mo asked:

I have inherited a wicker / rattan patio set from the previous house owners. It will have to be used and kept outdoors for the summer and I would like to know what type of wax / oil to use on it to afford it some protection from Northern England weather (ie usually wet and windy)!

can indoor furniture cushions be treated somehow to withstand use outside?

May 3rd, 2008 | Posted in Wicker   Comments Off
fabulosityinc asked:

I’m moving some wicker furniture from inside to my deck. There are some slip-covered cushions as part of the pieces, but i don’t think the fabric is very weather resistant. Can i treat the fabric somehow to handle rain, sun, etc or should i just have new cushion covers made?

I am looking for wicker/rattan balls, does any know where I can find them?

May 1st, 2008 | Posted in Wicker   Comments Off
S.l.o. asked:

I need some grapefruit size rattan or wicker balls to put in a bowl for a centerpiece. I have seen them in catalogues (sp?) but only as decorations for big furniture pieces they are selling, never for sale themselves. Or wooden balls would work too. I have searched online, tried ebay, looked at target, pier one etc etc etc and can’t find them for sale anywhere. Obviously someone has to sell them, but can’t seem to find where. Any ideas?
