What is the best modern hotel close to Orlando that is on the beach? Everything I am seeing is very ‘dated.’?

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008
Jill C asked:

I’m looking for a hotel that is on the beach that is in an area with lots to do. Something that is not your basic ‘Florida decor.’ (peach, wicker furniture, etc..) I believe the closest is anywhere from Daytona Beach to Melbourne. Anywhere in that vacinity. Thanks for any help!

kuka asked:

hi, i painted my new outdoor wicker furniture into white yesterday. i used outdoor spray paint that says it’s good for wicker. i also read somewhere that primer is not necessary, so i didn’t apply it. today i woke up and checked if the paint dried. it’s not sticky but if i lightly scratch it with my nail it comes off. what can do? it’s been 24 hours since i applied the last coat. please help!

Tropical Room Ideas?

Thursday, September 18th, 2008
Airborne Retired asked:

Hi, now that I’m finally going to be free to live a civilian life, me and my girl and moving in together, near her family in Minnesota, that’s her dream, so we’ll move there.

My problem, is that I’m going to miss warm weather, and my lovely ocean, so to keep myself sane year round, we’re making a tropical room, where I’ll put a TV and some game systems and stuff, to calm my nerves during those miserable winters.

I was wondering if anybody had any good ideas for colors, things to use for a full-blown tropical feel. I’m thinking Wicker wood furniture, but what else??

Arlene

patio furniture as living room furniture?

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008
lamd asked:

Have you ever heard or seen anyone do this and how did it look?

We have a very small livingroom and furniture had become so bulky. I thought that wicker would make the room a little bit more open.
What do you think?

Fernando

To prime or not to prime?

Thursday, September 11th, 2008
datgirl88 asked:

We are in the process of remodeling my daughter’s bedroom. She wants light yellow walls and white furniture. I know that when you have old walls (we bought a very old house), you have to prime over the bad stains and I know that to cover dark furniture I have to prime before painting white. But what about……

new sheetrock?

old white furniture that needs a fresh paint job?

unfinished wicker chairs?

If it were up to me, I would prime everything, but my husband disagrees. PLEASE HELP!

OH - and regardless of priming or not, do you always have to sand before you paint?? Like even for the fresh paint over old paint?

Thanks!

Jessie
