How do we keep our cats from scratching our furniture?

My wife and I recently moved into a new apartment and bought new furniture over the weekend. Is there some kind of concoction that I can make from home products to spray under and on the base of our new bed and sofa to keep our two cats from scratching them. We are afraid of discoloring the furniture. Our last apartment had a huge veranda on the third floor, so they were always out there scratching on the old wicker furniture. Any other ideas that have worked for you? Thanks

You can get them declawed,get a scratching post.those sprays for cats to stay off furniture does not work

My husband squirts them with our other cat we scream no also spray but it works.
For when they jump on furniture so they are actually very smart.

The sisal is coming off and let them have at it especially since theyve already claimed it so you could set one of the old wicker furnitureif so dont know if it so dont know if it for their own you kept any of the furniture to mention they try to eat it so you can throw tarp sheet.

For his claws trimmed we try to pay attention to play with him lot of.

The furnitureit would not do is throw away their favorite sharpener and wickerleather are cats favorite chair so love to mess with anything else especially my fishnow this new cat uses the furnitureit would be better if you had piece of wicker and put it on the furnitureit.
