Is wicker furniture too girly for a baby boy’s room/nursery?

Kirsten asked:
I was wondering, I’ve had this furniture since I was a little girl, and would like to be able to pass it down one day. Would it be too girly for a baby boy, I don’t know how long I’d leave it there, I don’t want him to end up hating it. I could paint it a boy color, it’s lovely, but I just dont know…advice?
Thank you for your opinions.
This stuff is kinda large, a night stand, vanity/desk and 6-drawer dresser, its pretty heavy/sturdy, so a child probably wouldn’t knock it over. I’m glad you brought it up though, this is my first child and I wouldnt have thought to check that.

Wicker is neither masculine nor feminine. Perhaps if it’s pink you may want to repaint it but wicker is not considered girlish.

I don’t think it’s too feminine but wicker tends to be light and I would think a toddler could injure himself by pulling it over. Maybe hold onto it until he’s older and let him decide if he likes it?

I think it could be really cute if you painted the wicker, you could even make it really fancy theme style, like painted butterflies or something like that.
You could get really creative.
you could get some ideas too on how to design the furniture here
